Curriculum overview: Seventh grade

Former WSU and NFL football player, Mark Rypien stops by to thank seventh graders for a job well done.
The classics come alive for seventh graders as they read novels, short stories, poetry and essays. These works serve as inspiration for the students who, in turn, write they own masterpieces, debate ideas, prepare for their wax museum research project and even help their third-grade partners put their ideas on paper.

The science curriculum includes the study of matter and energy, physics, earth science, living things, the environment and genetics. As the math curriculum becomes more advanced, students study either general math or pre-algebra.

Students learn about the physical and cultural difference of the world by studying geography, in class. As part of community service projects, our seventh graders are helping the fight against cancer by sending letters to kids with cancer at Sacred Heart Medical Center, participating in the Relay for Life, raising funds for the Ronald McDonald House and working with the Mark Rypien foundation.

Seventh grade religion classes are designed to give student an understanding of Jesus and His Life. Classroom discussions, textbook assignments, and attendance at weekly Mass all help our students enter eighth grade with a better understanding of what it means to be a follower of Christ.
